Santa Lucia Christmas Market has been held in Barcelona since at least 1786. The market sets up its stalls in front of the Cathedral during the Christmas season, where you can find Christmas trees, decorations, garlands, mistletoes… There are a lot of different objects that you can buy to create the typical Christmas nativity scene. You'll also find traditional Catalan "caganers", who appear in surprising new guises every year. Kids can get to know the traditon "el Tió Gegant", the giant "pooping log" in Pla de la Catedral from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm on working days, and from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm on weekends.
Following the Catalan tradition of Christmas markets, the Sagrada Família Christmas Fair offers many types of complements, from traditional Catalan Christmas figures and decorations to Christmas trees and various accessories. The handicrafts from different countries and by different artists also stand out at this market. The festive atmosphere around the Sgarada Familia area of Barcelona is complemented with stands of local craft foods such as torrons, Catalan cheeses, cold meats, sweets and chestnuts.
The Spanish tradition of 3 Kings would not be the same without the 3 Kings Fair that is organized every year along the avenue Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, between the streets of Muntaner and Rocafort. At this market you can find all kinds of toys, gifts, handicrafts and typical Christmas products. If you want, you can also bring new toys to the stands of solidarity there!
