According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the world's tourist destinations received 1.1 billion international tourists between January and October 2017, 7% more than in the same period of the last year. This is an important factor that makes the new edition of FITUR a more international event. By region, the ones that grow the most are Africa (21%), Asia Pacific (19%) and Europe (15%). The internationalization of the FITUR is advanced with the presence of Syria, Sao Tome and Principe, Bangladesh and Bosnia Herzegovina, which had never participated before.
