FABRICA DE TABACO is very spacious, a rarity today in old buildings in the city centre, and full of structural and decorative details common to Sevillian architecture of that period. With four-bedroom apartment with a spectacular views over the baroque façade of the old tobacco factory and the remains of the magnificent perimeter wall of the Real Alcázar gardens.
White predominates throughout, emphasizing the high ceilings and neoclassical decorative details, such as the pillars and moldings. The painted wood of doors, windows and balconies is an original feature, as is the magnificent marble fireplace in the main living area. The marble and terracotta floors throughout add to the high quality theme.
The interior design is purposefully simple, somewhat neoclassical, to accentuate the spaciousness of the whole property and ensure maximum comfort and convenience, whilst at the same time affording a sense of romanticism and warmth.
The entrance hallway has minimum clutter, with just wall lighting and an umbrella stand, and leads to the living area and dining room through an opening flanked by elaborate plaster pillars and mouldings.
This enchanting property is uniquely located in the elegant street of San Fernando and borders on the perimeter walls of Seville´s beautiful 14th century Moorish-style palace, . Given the very few residential homes in the street, you can enjoy almost exclusive views of this magnificent palace.
The bright living room opens onto the San Fernando street via two beautiful wrought-iron balconies. There is a magnificent fireplace around which the main sitting area is arranged, with two large modern sofas, easy chairs and a modern coffee table which sit naturally alongside antiques, more classical pieces of furniture, and reproductions of old paintings on the walls. Rugs, throws and cushion covers in shades of brown and purple provide a fresh touch. There is a built-in bookcase and a work area with a period writing table and appropriate lighting.
The dining room can accommodate up to eight guests. Accessible from the living room or directly from the entrance hall, it has a beautiful period table and a set of antique chairs.
The large kitchen has a clearly defined working area and eating area. It is fully equipped with the latest white goods, and opens onto the dining room via a serving hatch.
At the entrance of the property you have the first double bedroom that looks onto San Fernando street and is decorated following the same simple yet romantic lines as the rest of the property. The pretty and original headboards over the two double beds make a clear statement, as do the moldings and skirting´s, all of which is enhanced by the bright sunlight enveloping the room. The bedroom has a full en-suite bathroom.
The rest of the sleeping area has magical views over the perimeter wall of the Alcázar. It has three further double rooms, each delightfully decorated and provided with a fitted wardrobe. The terracotta floors are coupled with traditional ceramic skirting and neo-Mudejar (Moorish) style moldings, a concession to the decorative trends of the period.
The second double bedroom also has queen-size beds, its own en-suite bathroom, and a balcony with magnificent views.
The third and fourth bedrooms also have their own bathroom and twin beds. The property can thus accommodate up to eight discerning guests, making it ideal for large families or a group of friends.
San Fernando street, which used to cross the city wall, is a superb location for those wishing to see it all. Without leaving the apartment itself, you have a sweeping view of the Royal Tobacco Factory and the Alfonso XIII hotel, a veritable icon of traditional Sevillian architecture.
A short stroll away is the entrance to the Maria Luisa Park and the Plaza de España, one of the most iconic works of renowned architect Anibal González, built for the Universal Exhibition of 1929. San Fernando also leads easily to the Murillo Gardens and the picturesque Barrio de Santa Cruz.
